With a development budget of PKR 1.80 billion, a dual-lane carriageway, full-depth underpass will be constructed at the Firdous Market area of Gulberg. The project is aimed at reducing traffic congestion on the route leading from Centre Point to Cavalry Ground, as well as to facilitate the flow of traffic headed towards MM Alam Road.
According to a department official, the approved underpass would be 540 feet long and would require seven kanals of land for construction. Moreover, it is also expected to incorporate a special rainwater drainage system. Crucially, the development of this project will not affect the existing structures in the area.
