Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZA) expects the Rashakai Prioritised SEZ (PSEZ) to create around 50,000 direct and 150,000 indirect employment openings, a news source reported. SEZA believed that the PSEZ would create these job opportunities related to trade and export to the central Asian markets through the Torkham corridor.

During its meeting held this past week, SEZA stressed that Rashakai was the focus of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)’s second phase.
Meanwhile, BOI had already assigned Rashakai the status of an SEZ through a notification issued in September 2019. Also, the Power & Petroleum Division has approved the PC-1 for the provision of electricity and gas for the project.
