Karachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) will sell the shop and office units located inside its parking plaza in Saddar on a private ownership basis, a news source quoted KDA Director General (DG) Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman as saying.

The DG revealed this information during his visit to the parking plaza on Wednesday. He stated that to sell the shops and offices, the development authority would conduct computerised balloting.

He further issued orders to the officials concerned regarding the maintenance of cleanliness both inside and outside the building. He added that the officials concerned should ensure that no one uses the walls of the parking plaza for displaying banners or posters.

The facility located in Saddar comprises 12 storeys, with two floors dedicated to shops, two reserved for offices, and remaining eight assigned for the parking of vehicles. The building was inaugurated in July 2009, and its management was granted to a private party on a contractual basis. Later, the management control was transferred to the KDA.
