Karachi: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday officially launched the Sindh chapter of the Kamyab Jawan Programme — with the initiative aimed at empowering the region’s youth population and encouraging entrepreneurship in the country, according to news sources.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Governor’s House, where PM Khan distributed cheques amongst the applicants. In his address, the PM stated that the government was striving to uplift the country’s youth population, and that they had the skills and energy to significantly influence Pakistan’s development status.
He assured the attendees that the disbursement of loans under this flagship initiative would be made based on merit. He added that the government was already awarding scholarships worth PKR five million under its on-going Hunarmand Jawan Programme.

Under the KJP initiative, the government is enabling the youth to apply for easy-interest-rate loans that range from PKR 50,000 to PKR 5,000,000. The return policies of these loans have been formulated to be affordable and convenient in order to avoid causing any trouble for the applicants.
