Mansehra: The Torghar District Development Advisory Committee on Wednesday sanctioned the construction of the Balakot-Nusratkhel Road; estimated to cost PKR 1.4 billion to the provincial exchequer, a news source reported.

This information was revealed during a meeting attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Arshad Mansoor and the heads of other relevant government departments. Committee Chairman and MPA Laiq Mohammad Khan informed the session that the government was also in the process of ascertaining the availability of various other facilities in the area, like education, healthcare and infrastructure etc.

Chairman Khan stated that the work required to cover the Darband-Hudbah Road with tar would begin soon and that the road would eventually connect the Torghar area to the Mansehra district. He added that the construction work for Munjakot road had already been approved, at an estimated cost of PKR 210 million.

Additionally, the chairman also disclosed that he had already requested Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan to release the funds for the development of the Barando hydropower project, which is expected to be developed on the Indus River.
