Faisalabad: The district administration recently decided to set up GreenSoft sports parks on unused public land around the district — with the city’s deputy commissioner (DC) issuing directives in this regard to the assistant commissioners and other officials concerned, a news source reported.

The parks will be established on Board of Revenue, Auqaf, and Punjab Liquidation Board land, with assistance from affluent individuals.

The assistant commissioners have been instructed to visit the unused land around the district that belongs to the three aforementioned departments and submit their recommendations on the matter to the deputy commissioner.

Public funds will not be utilised for the establishment of these parks; instead help in this regard will be provided by local NGOs, welfare organisations, traders and industrialists.

The instructions issued by the DC also instruct that the parks should be established on places which are near populated areas, and have easy access to water.
