Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has announced its decision to construct a 70-kilometre-long circular ring road around the city, a news source reported. According to details, the road will be developed under a Built, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) mechanism.

According to FDA Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja, formation of the PC-1 for the ring road project is underway. He further stated that the project would allow commuters to travel to the other end of the road within half an hour. The road will be connected with all motorways to provide relief to all farmers, he added.

For acquiring land for the Faisalabad Ring Road project’s construction, the government will offer commercial property to land providers.
The circular road will also feature dedicated economic zones to promote business activity in pharmaceutical, textile, and agriculture zone. The project is being designed keeping in long-term needs, where land will be reserved for laying a railway track that will provide transport to the people working in these zones as well as move around goods.
