Kharian: Parliamentary Secretary Mian Akhtar Hayat recently inaugurated development schemes worth PKR 50 million in the city, a news source reported. He further announced the construction of four new tube wells at a cost of PKR 20 million to provide clean water to residents of Kharian, Gujrat.

PKR 5mn will be spent to plaster the main bazar on Guliana Road with tough tiles, he added. The secretary also announced that PKR 3.2mn will be spent on sewage tunnels. PKR 2mn will be used to fix street lights, and build streets and drains.

Moreover, containers and trolleys worth PKR 3.5 million will be procured. Loader rickshaws will be bought for PKR 1.5mn. PKR 0.8mn will be utilized to develop a bridge over the rainy stream near Kausar Masjid and PKR 1.8mn for improving water supply system.

Local businessmen Malik Amjad Sabiq, Munawar Hussein Tarrar, and Malik Amjad Ali, as well as former councillor Advocate Chaudhry Saqib Baseer, were all present at the occasion.
