The chairman revealed this information during a meeting with media persons, and promised that the new project would have international-standard facilities. He said that it would feature a separate grid station for electricity supply, which had already been paid for by the departments concerned. Furthermore, he stated that the process of selling the 550 empty plots of the town would also begin soon and that the SDA would ensure that the sales process was transparent and fair.
Chairman Kahloon went on to say that the SDA expected to earn revenues of up to PKR 5 billon through the sale of these plots, and that these funds would be used for constructing various roads in Model Town and for the planning of new towns in the city.
The SDA chairman told the meeting that Model Town consisted of 3,200 plots spread over an area of 1,600 acres — out of which only 550 plots still remained to be sold. He added that the town also included a quota of plots for lawyers, journalists, and trade organisations. He further directed the town’s allotees to submit their dues by February 22; warning them that their plot allotments would be cancelled if they failed to do so.

In cases in which the allottee had passed away, the chairman advised the families of the deceased to obtain an inheritance certificate from the court in order to be eligible for plot allotment.
