Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan Alyani recently presided over a high-level meeting held to review the Gwadar master plan and the affairs of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), according to a news source.

At this meeting, GDA representatives revealed that Gwadar would have skyscrapers soon, and that water, sanitation, roadworks, and other related projects are already under development in the city. GDA Director General Shahzeb Kakar further briefed the meeting’s attendees about all the development projects currently taking place in Gwadar.
Kakar told the attendees that the Swad Dam had been constructed, at a cost of PKR 3.8 billion. He added that the laying of pipelines to supply water to Gwadar and the surrounding areas had also been initiated.

In the meeting, officials also reviewed GDA bylaws in relation to the Gwadar master plan and decided that No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) for construction would be issued once these bylaws were approved. It was also determined that all housing schemes in the port city would be linked with one another through the construction of new road networks.
