Islamabad: Advisor to the Chief Minister on Horticulture and Tourism Asif Mehmood on Tuesday announced the Punjab government’s decision to organise the three-day ‘Cholistan Jeep Rally’ in South Punjab, a news source reported. According to the official, the event is scheduled to begin on February 13.

He further stated that the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) had completed a grand resort to accommodate visitors at the planned event. He said that the authority had been organising the Cholistan Jeep Rally since 2005 to draw visitors from around the globe.

However, this time the visitors would be provided with spacious camps, as well as eateries, in the resort for stay, he added. The famous desert is considered one of the best winter tourist destinations, given its cultural heritage and values, he said.

Moreover, the PTDC, he said, had made arrangements for cultural nights, including local music, to entertain foreign tourists and familiarize them with the culture of Cholistan. He reiterated the commitment of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar to uplift the condition of common people in Bahawalpur and South Punjab at large.
