Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is considering a change in Sector H-16‘s developmental status from ‘education’ to ‘residential’ in a bid to facilitate the people affected by the civic agency’s land acquisition drive, according to news sources. To this effect, the affectees of Chauntra Village in the north of Sector E-10 and Sector D-11 are expected to be allotted plots in Sector H-16.

For this purpose, the civic agency will have to settle thousands of built-up property (BuP) cases filed by the people of the aforementioned locale.
CDA spokesperson Syed Safdar Ali has confirmed that a change in the status of Sector H-16 is under consideration to accommodate people. He said that a summary in this regard will be presented before the CDA board and, if approved, the matter will be tabled before the cabinet for final approval.

Ali said that the cabinet was the eligible forum to approve any alterations to the agency’s master plan. He said that the said blue print was developed with suggestions to update it every 20 years to accommodate the city’s evolving requirements. A commission was introduced in December 2018 for the purpose, he added.
