Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced its decision to build overhead bridges for pedestrians at four locations of the capital city, a news source reported. The four flyovers are expected to be constructed along Jinnah Avenue, Faisal Avenue, Kashmir Highway, and Pakistan Secretariat.

The development authority has handed over the installation work of pedestrian flyovers to Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) Taxila and has ordered the construction work and installation of bridges. The setting up of four bridges will be completed at an estimated cost of PKR 174 million.

The costs for each bridge are as follows:
- Pedestrian bridge Jinnah Avenue at Mehran gate F-9 Park to cost PKR 40.12 million.
- Pedestrian bridge Faisal Avenue near PIMS hospital to cost PKR 42.93 million.
- Pedestrian bridge Kashmir Highway near Weekly Bazaar to cost PKR 51.94 million.
- Pedestrian bridge near Pakistan Secretariat to cost PKR 38.99 million.
CDA had issued the work orders to HMC following the approval of the project’s PC-1, along with other codal formalities. It had further directed the officials concerned to complete the project within a time frame of six months.
