Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) recently announced its decision to construct access roads and additional loops alongside the F-8/G-8 underpass on Jinnah Avenue — with the initiative aimed at offering the city’s citizens a faster route between the F-8 and G-8 sectors and the major thoroughfare, according to news sources.

These access roads and loops will be developed by the CDA’s own resources. The Machinery Pool Organization (MPO) Directorate of the CDA has already managed to mobilize the machinery required for the project, and have launched the development work on these roads as well; after receiving instructions in this regard from the authorities concerned.

The project is aimed to diminish the traffic loads in the aforementioned sectors and Jinnah Avenue. In addition, this project will also ensure the proper utilization of the F-8/ G-8 underpass by making it accessible from Jinnah Avenue and vice versa. Presently, the commuters are forced to use the G-9 junction on the Avenue to reach the two sectors — which adds to the traffic congestion in the locale
The civic agency has given directions to the departments concerned to complete the construction work required on these access roads by the next week, in order to facilitate the city’s residents.
