Initially they have received the land + Development charges. But after 10 years have passed. & development charges are so high now. They are going to impose further 3 lacs for each 10 marla plot in extension. But if we look the potential in this block, 3 lacs will be nominal amount. As in the budget of 5 marla in orchard, one can buy a 10 marla plot. With just 3 lacs further development charges.

It's too early to say if it's a roadblock or diversion.

Seems more like a roadblock, dead-end. Lai Expressway, RRR, Islamabad Expressway signal free corridor, all these are just lolly-pops.
All the talk about FWO getting the contract for RRR is just sharks trying to dupe more innocent investors.

My Opinion is different as usual. As bahria Town Phase 8 extension is not solely dependent on RRR. It has acces through BT Phase 8 & development work is also in progress, so BT 8 Ext will have no impact after postponement of RRR. But many small societies on chakri road & Adiyala road that were solely dependent on RRR mareting may go Negative.
I think RRR has only suffered a momentary set back and it is not shelved for good. My hunch is based on the news that Punjab govt is preparing to double its development budget in next fiscal year. This seems like a desperate attempt to rescue the Nalaiq-e-Azam from his economic, diplomatic and political down fall.
Inflation has already hit 11% and more is yet to come as agreed with IMF.

After trying bunch of looser Arastoos and putting economy to shambles the Joker has now brought in Shaukat Tarin who wants to follow Munshi Dar's footprints, that is, achieve high growth rate (6-7%). For that government has to increase development expenditure and manufacturing-related imports. So back to square 1.
But situation is different this time. Inflation has reached sky high in their 2.5 years of mis-rule. Wheat flour and sugar has gone up by 100% and electricity by 200%. First time in 70 years.
But the ATM machines are the biggest hurdle in implementing major decisions. So Tarin will fail and quit just as Shabbar Zaidi did.
BTW, did u notice all those "chor, daku" and "NRO nahin doon ga" sagas are gone.

I wrote 5 days ago that govt is going to jack up development spending. Now Tarin has confirmed that they are aiming to spend $6bn on infrastructure project in a bid to increase GDP growth and bring it back to 5% (still less than Munshi's level). That Munshi was some genius, I tell ya, and Tarin is a sensible follower. If he continues to work undeterred by the jokers around him -- the biggest being the Donkey Raja himself -- then surely he'll save the day for us.
