New Year Night Fireworks at Seaview
Since the end of 2017, the Sindh Government no longer imposes a ban on New Year’s Eve celebrations at Seaview, allowing the people of Karachi to gather in droves near the beach for a fantastic fireworks display. The provincial government organises the show themselves as a means of entertainment for the locals. However, certain security measures are taken to ensure that the occasion is celebrated peacefully.
This includes using Shahrah-e-Faisal and then the Saudi Consulate route to get to Seaview or to take the Club Road route instead, as you will unable to reach the seaside from Khayaban-e-Ittehad, which will be closed for traffic coming from Korangi Road. There will also be a ban on one-wheeling, riding motorcycles without silencers, and aerial firing, with Section 144 in place, which also imposes a ban on carrying an armed weapon and can result in a fine as well as up to six months of jail time.
