Here’s an important checklist of vehicle transfer documents in Islamabad.
- Sale Deed (the document which is prepared when a vehicle deal is closed)
- Original Transfer Letter (with signature of the previous owner of the vehicle)
- Photocopy of Your Smart/Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC)
- Photocopy of Vehicle Owner’s Smart/CNIC card (Verify that the card is still valid)
- Transfer Order Form (T.O Form)
- 2 Transfer letter In Urdu (One Original and One of A4 Size)
- Challan Form (Should be attested first from ETO office before fee submission)
- Vehicle Registration Book
Process of Vehicle Ownership Transfer In Islamabad
Let’s take you through the steps you need to undergo to complete the process of vehicle transfer in Islamabad.
- Request the seller of the vehicle informed to visit the Excise and Taxation Office, Islamabad (ETO) whenever you ever there is a need.
- Ideally, if the previous owner of the vehicle is also present in the Excise and Taxation Office, it will make the process of transfer of vehicle ownership will make the process less complicated.
- In the next step, you need to visit the Islamabad court office, which is located in F-8 Markaz, Islamabad to fetch the Challan Form and T.O Form. You can also ask a form vendor available in the court office to fill all the forms for you, in exchange of which he may charge you around PKR 100-200.
- Present all the documents and get them attested by a relevant officer in the Islamabad court office.
- However, to make payments against the given fee challan, you need to go to the National Bank, F-8 Branch, which is located right opposite to the Excise and Taxation Office, Islamabad.
- Note: Fee Challan is payable only in that particular branch of NBP or in State Bank of Pakistan’s Sector F-5 Branch.
- Now get all your documents attested by a Class 1 Government Officer.
- Note: All of the documents need to be attested except for the Sale Deed and the original transfer letter.
- Once you are done with the attestation and verification of documents, ask the seller of the car to visit Islamabad Excise and Taxation Office with you, where you are going to present all of the completed and attested documents in front of the relevant officer.
- Now you will be directed to visit a counter where you will be asked to pay PKR 550 for the official screening of the documents. After the process is completed, you will get two receipts.
- These two receipts have to be presented at another counter, where a staff member will take all the documents from you and issue you a printed receipt printed with the expected delivery date of the transferred vehicle registration book.
