Update (July 27, 2021): In a bid to promote tourism, the Balochistan Coastal Development Authority (BCDA) is planning to work on multiple projects based on tourist attractions across the province, especially along its coastal belt.
According to the details shared by the BCDA’s Director-General, the master plan of the development of the coastline with tourist hotspots is currently in the works. It includes five fishing sites, five beach parks, nine rest stops at the Makran Coastal Highway, and two nurseries based on Salicornia (a plant species that can grow on beaches and in salt marshes).
The authorities are also planning to set up seven eco-friendly tourist resorts at different locations in Balochistan including Miani Hour, Kund Malir, Gadani, Pasni, Ormara, Jewani Sunset Point, and Gwadar Marine Drive.

Touring across Balochistan is always a fascinating experience. The largest province of Pakistan is, hands down, a geological wonderland with unique topographical features and many beautiful sites to visit. In a recent development, the provincial government, in the wake of a series of moves taken by the federal government to promote tourism across the country, has planned to develop and upgrade existing tourist attractions in Balochistan, especially along its 700-km long coastal belt. Tourist Attractions in Balochistan to Be Developed By the Government

Pasni Beach
Named after “Pasni,” a small fishing town in the Gwadar district of Balochistan, Pasni Beach is one of the most exotic places in the region. It offers the most fascinating sceneries of the Arabian Sea. People visiting this coastal tourist spot in Balochistan can enjoy a comfortable stay at Jinnah Beach Club. According to a recently announced government’s initiative, a luxury beach resort is planned to be developed near Pasni beach to promote tourism in Balochistan.

Kund Malir Beach
Views of the crystal-clear water of the Arabian Sea at Kund Malir beach is truly a feast for the eyes. The beach is accessible via Makran Coastal Highway. It is a part of Hingol National Park, one of the most popular wildlife reserves in Balochistan. Owing to its increasing popularity, the government of Balochistan has plans to transform it into a proper tourist spot by developing state-of-the-art beach resorts and other types of recreational activities near the beach.

Gadani Beach
Almost everyone is familiar with the name of Gadani beach since it is one of the oldest and most popular picnicking spots in Balochistan, in proximity to Gadani ship-breaking yard, the largest graveyard of ships in Pakistan. Like other beaches of Balochistan, the provincial government has plans to turn Gadani into an iconic beach destination to attract foreign tourists. It is also one of the most visited beaches by the picnickers from Karachi.

Astola Island (Jezira Haft Talar)
Popular known as Astola Island, Jezira Haft Talar is truly a hidden gem of Pakistan. It is an uninhabited island famous for the adventure sport of “deep-sea water diving.” Scuba diving clubs in Karachi offer multiple tour packages to this amazing place during the low tide season. According to a recent announcement, the provincial government is to develop Astola Island as a full-fledged tourism spot.
Location of Astola Island: Located near Buzi Makola Wildlife Sanctuary, it can be reached by boat.
Darah Beach, Jiwani
Jiwani, which is a small commercial port found in the Gwadar District of Balochistan, is home to one of the most exotic beaches of Balochistan known as “Darah Beach.” It is almost an untouched beach with majestic cliffs. All these natural features make it one of the best underrated picnicking spots in Balochistan. Balochistan’s government has also included Darah Beach, Jiwani in its initiative to come up with five proper tourist spots in Balochistan along its coastal belt with the development of beach resorts and other types of outdoor activities like boating, fishing, yacht sailing and more.

Makran Coastal Highway – The Best Route to Get to the Tourism Spots in Balochistan
Makran Coastal Highway, which is a long stretch of 653 kilometres running from Karachi in Sindh to Gwadar in Balochistan, is the only best route to get to the tourism spots in Balochistan. It serves as the road link between Gadani, Kund Malir, Ormara, Pasni, Gwadar and Jiwani.
