Everything You Need to Know About the Punjab Labour App
The Punjab Labour and Human Resource Department (PL&HRD) is all set to launch a mobile application for registering small businesses with a click of a button. To avoid the hassle of visiting the labour department’s office, waiting in long queues and getting the company registered, now the process has become fairly easy. You can easily register your shop online via the Punjab Labour App.
Earlier in Jan 2018, the Directorate of General Labour Welfare Punjab launched their first ever free online registration of shops portal. You just have to click on the business registration portal link available on the Labour Department, Punjab’s website. When you click on the link, it will direct you to a page on Punjab Information Technology Board’s website. Fill in your username and password details and go through the step by step guide to register a business online available on the website. Fill in the details accordingly and your commercial business will be registered with a click of a button.
With the success of a website, the government of Punjab along with Punjab Labour Department and PITB is planning to launch an online business portal i.e. Punjab Labour App that will help automate the business registration process of shops and small stores. Labourers working for small shops and stores are usually not registered with the labour department, which makes it difficult for the government institution to track labourers.
One of the highlights of Punjab Labour App is that once the registration is done the labourers can receive online certificates, which the labour officer can verify using the QR code when visiting the site. This will help track labourers and work on their welfare programmes, resolving disputes between labourers and management and ensuring labour laws are enforced in the company.
The PL&HRD Secretary Ahmed Javed Qazi shared the feature of Punjab Labour App and shed light on how it will help automate processes during a meeting held at the Labour Department. He also briefed the participants that the department is making efforts with the help of new technology to facilitate labourers and the business community and to simplify business processes in the province. Around 75% of social security contribution was made through online banking from the employers of large industrial units, which is a welcome change.
Through Punjab Labour App the labourers can easily get themselves registered and also increase the number of registered labourers in the province facilitating both the Department of Labour, Punjab and the labour workforce of the province.
