If you’re planning to invest in this upscale housing society or have recently signed the sales agreement for a property in the area, then you should begin preparing for the transfer process, which would allow you to legally acquire the plot or the house that you’ve purchased. Since some people find this part of the property buying process a little overwhelming, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide detailing the property transfer procedure in DHA, Lahore.
Easily accessible through Lahore Ring Road, Defence Housing Authority is divided into multiple phases, with Phase 6, Phase 7 and Phase 8 among the most popular to buy a property. The transfer fee and process for all phases are the same.

Regular Property Transfer
The process of regular property transfer in DHA, Lahore, is pretty straightforward. First, you have to apply for a No Demand Certificate (NDC) after clearing your outstanding dues. You can collect a No Demand Certificate request form from the DHA Office Reception. Then, visit the Transfer Branch section at DHA Office for an appointment. On the day of the transfer, both the buyer and seller will have to visit the branch in order to submit the transfer documents.
The relevant government charges and DHA membership fee will also have to be paid at the Customer Care Counter within 30 days. The Customer Services Officer will then receive the documents and give you a receipt, which you’ll have to bring along with your Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) to collect the transfer letter.

- The original allotment or transfer letter
- In case of a registered plot, the original transfer or sales deed along with affidavits of seller and purchaser
- A forwarding letter with the name of the purchase, details of the property and seller’s signatures
- An affidavit on PKR 50 stamp paper attested by the Oath Commissioner
- No Demand Certificate
- Undertaking by the purchaser
- Two copies of the buyer’s CNIC attested by the Oath Commissioner
- Two copies of the seller’s CNIC attested by the Oath Commissioner
- Two passport size photographs attested by a Class One Officer
- IT-5 and CVT-1 forms

Hiba Transfer for Gifted Property
If someone has gifted their property in DHA, Lahore, to their parents, children or spouse, they will first have to apply for an NDC and obtain a transfer appointment from the Customer Care Counter. On the day of the appointment, both the donor and donee will visit the Transfer Branch section along with two witnesses and submit their documents and a gift deed. The Customer Care Officer will receive the documents and hand over a receipt, which they will show at the counter along with your CNIC to receive the transfer letter.

- No Demand Certificate
- Original Allotment or Transfer Letter (for cancellation)
- A forwarding letter
- A gift deed on PKR 50 stamp paper attested by the Oath Commissioner
- An undertaking of acceptance by the donee on PKR 50 stamp paper attested by the Oath Commissioner

- Associate membership registration form: PKR 1,000
- Associate membership registration fee: PKR 45,000

- Urgent transfer charges: PKR 34,000
Legal Heir(s) Property Transfer
In the event of a property owner’s death, their plot or house is transferred to their legal heirs. The process to transfer property in such a case is quite similar to the regular transfer process. The heirs will obtain an appointment and submit the required documents to the Customer Services Officer at Customer Care Centre and collect the receipt. Once the Transfer Branch issues a confirmation letter to the legal heir(s), they will visit the Transfer Branch with their original CNIC to collect the Transfer Letter.
Moreover, if a legal heir is not present in the country, they can authorize another legal heir to receive the transfer letter on their behalf after submitting an authority letter submitted by the Pakistan Embassy.

- The original allocation, allotment or transfer letter
- A declaratory decree for legal heir issued by a Civil Judge
- Duly attested Death Certificate of the property owner
- Duly attested CNIC copies of all legal heirs
- Two passport size photos of each Legal Heir with a blue background, attested by Gazetted Officer
- Two advertisements announcing the death of the owner along with their photograph. These ads are each to be published in an Urdu and English newspaper
- Membership Form of the legal heir(s)
