With a mission to reshape the field of education in Pakistan, the current President of Pakistan, Mr. Arif Alvi launched the Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence & Computing (PIAIC). The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Saylani Welfare Trust, and Panacloud (Pvt.) limited are also the strategic partners of this grand, nationwide educational initiative. PIAIC aims to offer programs and certifications to the deserving IT professionals in Pakistan in fields like Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at highly subsidised rates. PIAIC not only caters to individuals living in twenty-eight cities of Pakistan but also to overseas Pakistanis, who can now register for different types of courses on the website and take online classes. So, let’s find out how to enroll in PIAIC and details about different types of IT courses in Pakistan that it offers.

How to Sign up for PIAIC?
Wondering how to sign up for PIAIC? Well, the process is only a matter of a few steps and all of the courses offered in the Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence & Computing can be joined for free. As per the information mentioned in the above-given screenshot, you need to visit www.piaic.org and provide your valid Smart Card/ Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number, if you are 18 or older otherwise, you just need to provide your Child Registration Certificate (CRC), commonly known as B-form. The second and third fields you need to fill will be email and password creation.
Note: Only upon the verification of your provided Smart Card/ CNIC/ B-form number, you’ll be allowed to become a member of PIAIC. Since you’ll be enrolled as a new student, now we’ll guide you on how to use the PIAIC portal.
How to Use the PIAIC Portal
Once you have signed up, you need to select your nearest centre from a long list appearing on the PIAIC portal, which will have city name and batch number on it. For more details, you have to click on your desired PIAIC centre. After that, comes the phase of course selection. You can enroll in multiple courses at a time. After selecting the course, you’ll go to the option of ‘Payment’ from the sidebar menu for the generation of the fee voucher.
Once you are done with payments, you can move on with exploring more about the course you have selected. Well, for the convenience of the students, each of the PIAIC courses has dedicated groups and conversation mediums on different channels like Slack, Facebook Groups, and Telegram Groups. Apart from these, there is also an overall PIAIC Official Facebook Group, which will keep you posted with the latest updates regarding the programs and test results for PIAIC courses.
Moreover, the sidebar menu also contains your profile management options, e-Books portal, Exams updates, and other academic announcements.

Artificial Intelligence Course
The Artificial Intelligence course by PIAIC has been designed for beginners. It is one of the most suitable courses to learn Artificial Intelligence in Pakistan, which is of a year-long duration, divided into four quarters with multiple phases of assignments and tests. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most advanced research fields of machine learning that develops an understanding of how to integrate intelligent human behaviors on a computer. The ultimate goal of promoting the scope of Artificial Intelligence in Pakistan is to make a computer learn, plan, and solve problems autonomously.
Cloud Computing Course
This course teaches cloud computing from scratch to the students enrolled. IT professionals in the country can learn the very basic concepts of Cloud Computing in Pakistan by understanding the practicalities and applications of the field. Cloud computing is basically a method of computing networked through a shared group of resources including web servers, file storage, data processing services, and applications that are accessed online. Offline and Online Classes by PIAIC
The Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence & Computing (PIAIC) offers both online and offline classes. However, for both study plans, each class will be organised for 3 credit hours per week, which will be a total of 36 hours per quarter (12 weeks or 3 months) and 144 hours for the entire year (52 weeks). Those students who want to enroll in the program online can simply select the distance learning option while filling the application form. PIAIC Fee Structure
As discussed earlier, all of the course programs offered under the banner of Presidential Initiative for Artificial Intelligence & Computing are divided into four quarters, each three-month-long, the fee structure has also been designed accordingly. For instance, after enrolling you may have to pay fees for the first quarter of your year-long program that is PKR 3000 or PKR 1500 (for distance learning students). Further details about PIAIC Fee are as follows:
PIAIC Fee (For Regular Students): PKR 1000 per month
PIAIC Fee (For Distance Learning Students): PKR 500 per month
Note: As per the latest updates on PIAIC, the fee for the first quarter of 2020 has been exempted amid the COVID-19 crisis in Pakistan to facilitate students in all 28 cities where the courses are being offered.
