Here is the list of passport offices in Karachi as per the list issued by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.
Karachi – I
Region: West, Central and South
Address: Shahrah-e-Iraq, Frere Police Station Road, near Mosque, Artillery Maidan, Karachi.

Karachi West includes Lyari Town, Baldia Town, Kemari Town, Orangi Town and SITE area. Meanwhile, Liaquatabad Town, Heydri, North Nazimabad, Rizvia Society, Buffer Zone and Sakhi Hassan are some of the most well-known areas located in the Central District. District South comprises Saddar Town.
Karachi – II
Region: East
Address: 1st Floor, Awami Markaz, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi.

NADRA Executive Passport Office

However, before you visit any of these branches for the issuance of passport, here are a few things you need to know:
- Individuals applying for their first-ever passport must visit the Regional Passport Office as per the jurisdiction their permanent or temporary address (as mentioned in their CNIC) falls in
- Individuals applying for the renewal of their passports can visit any of the Regional Passport Offices in Pakistan as per the jurisdiction their temporary address (not mentioned in their CNIC) falls in. In such cases, the individual must present complete addresses attested by a Gazetted Officer. The CNIC and contact number of the attester must also be present below their stamp
- Armed forces personnel, parliamentarians, government servants and semi-government employees, along with their spouses, children and dependent parents, can apply for a passport regardless of the jurisdiction
- Family members also have an option apply for a passport in Pakistan from the Regional Passport Office in whose jurisdiction the recorded address of the spouse fall in

Timings of Passport Offices in Karachi
These are the timings of passport offices in Karachi.
Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
The offices remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Please note that these timings are subject to change on the discretion of Directorate General Immigration and Passports.
Types of Passports in Pakistan
There are three types of passports in Pakistan:
Ordinary Passport
Ordinary passports are also referred to as the green passports. They can be obtained by all citizens of Pakistan.
Diplomatic Passport
Diplomatic passports are issued to the Diplomats and other personnel representing the country abroad.
Official Passport
Official passports are issued to the parliamentarian, senators, ministers, Supreme Court and High Court judges, along with other officials representing the Government of Pakistan.
Required Documents
Here are the documents required for the passport application process in Pakistan.
- Bank receipt of the prescribed fee deposit
- Original CNIC or NICOP
- Two photocopies of CNIC or NICOP
- Old passport in case of renewal
- No-Objection Certificate (NOC) in case of government servants
- Foreign passport and its photocopy in case of dual nationality
For Minors
- Bank receipt of the prescribed fee deposit
- Computerized Registration Certificate (CRC) issued by NADRA
- Two photocopies of NADRA
- Photocopies of parents’ CNICs
- Foreign passport and its photocopy in case of dual nationality
Passport Application Procedure
The passport application procedure in Pakistan is pretty straightforward.
Step 1: Visit the Customer Service Counter at one of the passport offices in Karachi after visiting any of the National Bank branches for passport fee submission
Step 2: An officer will take your picture and issue a token
Step 3: Submit your biometric data (fingerprints) at the counter
Step 4: Enter/verify/modify your requisite data into the system
Step 5: Your details will be checked against the official records of the Exit Control List (ECL) and Black List (BL)
Step 6: Appear for an interview before the Assistant Director of the Regional Passport Office. You will also be issued a receipt with the passport tracking number for your application
Step 7: You can collect your passport through the Passport Collection Counter at the Regional Passport Office as per the date mentioned on the receipt. Most Pakistani passport offices also allow you to pay additional charges to get the passport couriered to your home address
The process of passport renewal in Pakistan is the same as obtaining a new passport.
Fee Structure for Passport Application
There are two categories of passports in Pakistan:
- Ordinary
- Urgent
You can obtain an ordinary passport within 4 days while ordinary passports take up to 10 days.
Passports are either valid for 5 or 10 years.

What to Do If You Lose Your Passport
In case you lose your passport, the first thing you need to do is lodge an FIR (First Information Report) with the concerned police station. Then, you must deposit the required fee in the bank.
Here is the requisite fee chart:

After losing the passport for the third time, the person would have to contact Pakistan’s mission abroad to obtain an emergency passport in order to return to their homeland.
If the person is already present in Pakistan, their case will be referred to Dte. Gen. I&P for further action.
