Procedure for Passport Application in Islamabad
The passport application process in Islamabad is quick and straightforward, provided you have all the documents together in one place. Right after that, show up at the passport office, and you will be guided through these steps:
- Step 1: Submit the passport fee at the National Bank Counter and acquire the proof of receiving, i.e., the receipt. Next, visit the Customer Service Counter, and they will issue you an application form for Pakistani passport. Fill the form before moving to the second step.
Note: The departments at regional passport offices are divided as per districts. So, you will have to visit the district office you are living in as per your CNIC. |
- Step 2: Next, an officer will capture a photograph and issue a unique token number.
Note: Keep your token always with you and wait for your turn patiently. Wherever your token number shows up, move on to the respective counter. |
- Step 3: You will now be asked to submit your digital profile at the counter, such as your fingerprints.
- Step 4: Next, you will be called to enter your bio-data into the system, including your full name, date of birth, address, profession, etc. If you are renewing your passport, the officers will already have your information in place, and they will issue you a form to recheck.
Note: It is recommended to double-check all the spellings of your name, your address, and other data that has been entered into the system. If there are any errors, get it corrected by the officer to avoid any inconvenience later when you are applying for a visa. Individuals applying for immigration and student visa are advised to cross-check the spellings as per official documents such as mark sheets, CNIC, etc. |
- Step 5: Now, your provided details will be cross-checked with the existing records in the Exit Control List (ECL) and Black List (BL).
- Step 6: If you have cleared step 5, the Assistant Director of the Regional Passport Office will call you for a final interview. Afterwards, the director will issue a receipt with the passport tracking number for your application and delivery date.
Note: They will ask a few general questions, so do not panic or prepare for this interview in advance. |
Procedure for Collecting Your Passport
You have to collect your passport from the same office from where you have processed the application. For passport collection, you will need to:
- Show up at the Passport Collection Counter at the given date along with the receipt you received from the assistant director.
- You can also get your passport delivered at the doorstep, but you will be charged extra for this additional service.
