PAF Tarnol, Islamabad was launched in 1989, and is now a fairly developed society close to maturity. It is situated along a network of roads which thoroughly connects the residents of PAF Tarnol to the rest of the city.
Situated adjacent to Motorway and CPEC route, it is a fantastic project in terms of location, connected via roads to all parts of the city and the rest of the country. A Motorway link bypass is also expected to run through the society, affording people direct access.
It is also one of those housing schemes that are located close enough to receive the impact of the hype created around Islamabad International Airport. Not only does it benefit from all the road links to the airport, it will also benefit the metro. Indeed, a metro bus station is located nearby, so public transport is really convenient for the residents.
Currently, there are eight blocks; Blocks A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. Possession for residential plots is already available, while for commercial plots, possession was available in Blocks C and G. Here’s how the situation currently stands on the development and market front:
Development, possession and market rates
According to Qayyum Bangash of Alfalah Estate, development is taking place, but its pace is not quick. The work on roads is being done, there are roads and streets that still need carpeting, and work is slowly being done on them. Meanwhile, work on sewerage is almost complete, and the water system has been completed as well. However, it must be noted that the housing society does not have a proper water connection even though water is available.
According to Bangash, possession for commercial plots is available and can be applied for. Meanwhile, the market is rather dull, which is not something directly related to PAF Tarnol, but is an offshoot of the generally stable and rather slow market around the city and country in general. Currently, the prices stand as follows. The prices, it must be noted, vary significantly according to the location as can be seen below:

Bangash explained that the housing scheme is not particularly feasible for investment anymore. He explained that the society, at least in terms of investment has reached almost full maturity. PAF Tarnol is particularly attractive for those people who are looking to construct a home with varying degrees of delay. You might want to wait for the development of some more amenities and facilities and may wish for more activity in the housing scheme before you construct your home or want to move in – and still want to buy a plot right now for the affordability.
