There’s no doubt that the past few years have seen Pakistan achieve significant economic growth and development. The country is experiencing unprecedented progress in the infrastructure sector, especially with a now stable economic outlook. Besides the megalopolises, cities such as Quetta are also witnessing mega-development projects, one of which is Nawa Killi Bypass.
The Chief Minister of Balochistan recently laid the foundation stone of the bypass and reassured the people that many more such projects are in the pipeline.
In this blog, we are going to discuss the important details of Nawa Killi Bypass, including its location and its impact on the people living in the region once it is successfully delivered.
Let’s begin!
About Nawa Killi Bypass, Quetta
While Rawalpindi and Islamabad are widely known as the twin cities, Pakistan is also blessed with another twin, albeit lesser-known, Quetta and Ziarat. The historical and strategic importance of both these cities cannot be emphasised enough, considering the number of geological wonders in Balochistan present nearby.
Since Nawa Killi Bypass has more to do with Quetta than Zairat, we’ll keep our focus on the capital of Balochistan.
It goes without saying that even though Quetta is blessed with abundant naturally mesmerising landscapes, the city’s importance is usually overshadowed by its neighbouring tourist sites like Hanna Urak, Ziarat, Hazarganji-Chiltan National Park, and many others. This prompted the Government of Balochistan to propose a much-awaited initiative involving the restructuring of the road networks in the city. This initiative is aimed at providing added convenience to travellers and commuters who use this region as a base to move further up north.
The construction of Nawa Killi Bypass – a 6-kilometre road near New Hanna Road – is part of the initiative to simplify and smoothen the commute of tourists, residents, and cargo.
Now that you have a clearer picture of the need for the project, let’s give you a virtual tour of the project by taking you to the location of Nawa Killi Bypass, Quetta.
Location of Nawa Killi Bypass, Quetta
Nestled between New Hanna Road and Baleli Road, Nawa Killi Bypass is going to change the way how people commute to and from Quetta. In addition to being connected to two major arteries of Quetta, this 6-kilometre long bypass will serve as a major route for several modern housing schemes nearby like DHA Quetta, WAPDA Colony, Labour Colony, Zarhoon Housing Scheme, and many others.
Moreover, the construction of Nawa Killi Bypass will greatly contribute to the development of modern infrastructure and improve road safety for both automobiles and pedestrians. Speaking of which, here are some potential benefits that people will enjoy from the construction of Nawa Killi Bypass.
Benefits behind the Construction of Nawa Killi Bypass
Nawa Killi Bypass was initiated with more than one objective, but residents’ welfare ranks at the top. As such, here are some potential and most important benefits associated with the construction of Nawa Killi Bypass and its successful delivery:
- Traffic and noise pollution are two of the biggest problems faced by the world. Quetta isn’t any different from the rest of the world, and currently, the city’s traffic comprises cars and trucks passing through national roads near Nawa Killi. This traffic results in a heavy burden on roads situated near residential units and creates substantial noise and pollution. Hence, the 6-kilometre long bypass aims to tackle these problems by diverting heavy traffic away from residential areas.
- Once the traffic is diverted from residential areas, the quality of life for nearby residents will be naturally improved.
- One of the biggest benefits associated with the construction of this bypass is that it will improve road safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.
- Nawa Killi Bypass will help the concerned authorities further develop metropolitan infrastructure and enhance transport capacity.
