Beaconhouse National University
University Overview: Established in 2003, the Beaconhouse National University (BNU) is a non-profit institution chartered by the Government of Punjab. The university claims to be Pakistan’s first liberal arts university to offer graduate and masters programmes in visual arts and design, architecture, business studies, psychology, journalism, media studies, and various other fields of liberal arts.

Hostel Facilities at BNU: BNU is, hands-down, one of the most sought-after universities with hostels in Lahore. As per the official website of BNU, the hostel team makes every effort to provide an enriching environment to hostlers and support their educational journey. The policies at BNU hostel ensure that students remain safe inside their residential units at all times.
Each residential unit at BNU is coupled with air-conditioned common rooms that are equipped with TV and comfortable couches to relax, while every floor has a pantry that is fitted with a watercooler, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, a toaster, and an iron. Some additional facilities that are made available to students upon requests and during emergencies are:

University Overview: Mainly headquartered in Islamabad, Comsats University has been operating in Lahore since 2002 and is considered one of the most esteemed universities in Pakistan. Besides being one of the most prestigious universities in the city, the enormous campus of Comsats is home to ultra-modern facilities and world-class educational programmes.
Situated on Defence Road, the campus of Comsats spans across 185 acres and is authorised to offer degree programmes in computer science, engineering and architecture, psychology, and management sciences. According to the official website of the university, the environment at the campus is extremely diverse and vibrant and satisfactorily addresses the different needs of students, including accommodation.
Hostel Facilities at Comsats University: The accommodation facilities at Comsats University are limited, and students who want to apply for hostel accommodation are advised to submit the application at their earliest. As per the official website of the university, application forms are made available at the hostel office, and photocopier shop on the campus and late submissions are not entertained. The residential units are issued on a triple-sharing basis, and each room is coupled with three single beds, a spacious wardrobe, and three study tables with chairs. Some additional facilities at the hostel include:

Forman Christian College
University Overview: Established in 1864 by a Presbyterian missionary from the US, Dr Charles W Forman, the foundation history of Forman Christian College University (FCCU), predates the history of Pakistan.
Initially, the FCCU was recognised as a college, but in 2004, it was awarded the status of a chartered university by the Government of Punjab, and a few years after that, it progressed as an independent degree-awarding institution. As per the official website of the university, the FCCU is thought of as a pioneer in curriculum development for the rest of the universities in Pakistan ever since Dr Arthur Compton – a Nobel prize winner – conducted his research at the campus’ laboratory.
Hostel Facilities at the FCCU: Accommodation is a critical issue for students who head to Lahore for studies from nearby cities. As such, the FCCU hostel exclusively provides accommodation to over 660 students that do not have any residence in Lahore. Since the accommodation facilities are only reserved for expat students, the hostel administration unit keeps a close eye on the place and its residents.
The residential facilities at the FCCU comprise three hostels: Shirazi and West Halls provide accommodation to 260 male students, while Hope Tower houses are reserved for 370 female students. Due to limited space and restricted policies, accommodation is allotted to students who submit an application at the earliest.

Government College University, Lahore
University Overview: Raised in 2002 as an independent degree-awarding institution in Lahore, the Government College University (GCU) has a wonderful history of development. In 1864, GCU had the status of a college, and it was chartered by Calcutta University. Back then, the GCU mainly offered various college programmes. The GCU received affiliation from Punjab University, and soon after that, it gained the status of a university in 1997.
The campus covers an area of approximately 56 acres and houses state-of-the-art facilities, including research labs, libraries, gymnasiums, hostels, and around 12 different departments.
Hostel Facilities at GCU, Lahore: Besides offering on-campus ultra-modern amenities, the university features two different residential units – one for male students and the other for female students. So, even if you are unable to bond with people within the university, you’ll surely find friends with similar interests at the GCCU hostel.
Furthermore, the hostel facilities are divided into the categories mentioned below:
- New Hostel: The male wing of residential units at GCU is known as ‘New Hostel’ which is reserved for students enrolled in either undergraduate or graduate programmes. The annual charges for New Hostel are PKR 54, 160.
- Fatima Jinnah Hostel: Fatima Jinnah Hostel comprises residential units that are reserved for undergraduate female students. The annual charges for Fatima Jinnah Girls Hostel are PKR 45,778.
The above-mentioned annual charges are different than room rent and include services such as common room charges, library. magazine, maintenance fund, welfare fund, and admission fee.

Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore
University Overview: Kinnaird College for Women (KCW) has the honour of being one of the oldest colleges for women in Pakistan. Founded in 1913, KCW boasts a unique approach towards education and offers degree programmes in literature, linguistics, mass communication, environmental sciences, education, and computer sciences.
As per the official website of Kinnaird College, it is a community that believes in the power of questioning and learning through inquiry. The university also claims to have a record of achieving higher results persistently.
Hostel Facilities at KCW: Since Kinnaird College is an all-women institution, it only provides accommodation to female students. And, there’s no harm in saying that it is the most appropriate option for women who are looking for universities with hostel facilities in Lahore.
Moving forward, the college campus features two buildings that host around 46 students in each building and a number of staff members for supervision. Students are divided into Mangat Rai Hostel and Najmuddin Hostel with two and three staff members, respectively.

University Overview: Established in March 1985, Lahore University of Management Sciences is among the most prestigious and top-ranked degree-awarding institutions in Pakistan. Primarily known for producing highly skilled and competitive individuals in the field of business and commerce, LUMS is an internationally recognised institution that offers both graduate and undergraduate programmes.
Hostel Facilities at LUMS: Whether it is education, research or amenities, LUMS has a record of achieving excellence and setting benchmarks for the rest of the universities in Pakistan. As such, the student’s accommodation facilities at LUMS encompass ten residential buildings – out of which, four buildings are reserved for female students and the rest are dedicated to accommodating male students.
The accommodation facilities at LUMS are governed by the following policies:
- On-campus accommodation is given to students who do not have any personal residence in Lahore and who have enrolled in full-time programmes.
- Students can stay as long as the duration of their degree programme.
- Vacating the hostel before the completion of the respective programme will result in losing the right of accommodation.

University Overview: Established in 2002 with an objective to produce quality graduands and bring about a revolution in the field of education, the University of Education (UE), Lahore is well-reputed for promoting governance and cultivating leadership skills among their students.
In addition to offering graduate and undergraduate programmes, UE arranges several educational workshops, seminars, and short courses for capacity building. The institution also pays close attention to their student’s need whether it is related to academics or anything else. Hence, the campus features a library, several laboratories for various purposes, a digital library, and a hostel.
Hostel Facilities at UE, Lahore: As per the University of Education, students who head to Lahore from nearby cities in the thirst of knowledge require a safe and hygienic place to stay. To cater to such students, the UE features a hostel on one of its campuses on Bank Road.

University Overview: Established in the year 1999, the University of Lahore – also known as Lahore University – boasts an enormous campus. The university campus is more or less like a city that features around 11 faculties, over 35 departments, research laboratories, libraries, mosques, cafeteria, and residential units for students.
Ranked in the “W4” category of universities by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the university fulfils every criterion to claim to be a globally accepted institution.
Hostel Facilities at UoL: The University of Lahore arranges accommodation for both female and male students. As per the information available on the official website, the Defence Road Campus of UoL features two residential units named Razia Hall and Fatima Hall for female students. The units are big enough to house around 750 students.
A separate unit for men is under-development and will be completed soon. For now, UoL has rented two nearby structures to accommodate around 70 male students. To further facilitate students, the accommodation services at the University of Lahore are also coupled with:
