If you have stakes in LDA’s latest development, LDA City, you must be eagerly awaiting news about the next ballot. Well, the wait is over! Here is all you need to know about the plot balloting of LDA City, Lahore.
Updates on LDA City’s Plot Balloting
After a successful ballot of 9,700 plot files in November 2019, a second plot allocation ballot for LDA City, Phase 1 – Jinnah Sector was held on the 14th of February 2020.
Punjab Minister for Housing inaugurated the event, stating that LDA City was the ‘city of the future’ and applauded the LDA administration on their vigilance to complete the project in a timely manner.
Around 308 plots were awarded in the ballot for the files that were issued after December 2019. Out of these, 51 files were of 1 kanal plots, 135 files were of 10 marla plots and 120 files were of 5 marla plots respectively. As with the earlier ballot, the results have been posted online and can be viewed on the LDA’s official website. Moreover, all successful applicants will get a 50% discount on development charges.
Another recent announcement also mentions that Zameen.com now holds the exclusive rights to sell LDA City’s plot files. With the new agreement in place, the rates of 5 marla, 10 marla, and 1 kanal residential plot files, which will be balloted in the following month, are PKR 23.95 lakh (5 marla), PKR 35.5 lakh (10 marla) and PKR 53.75 lakh (1 kanal).
The recent ballots have brought relief for those individuals who were left waiting for more than a year for a confirmed ballot date. Initially, the ballot was planned and announced for February 2018, before being delayed for an unspecified period. A tentative date of 21st December had also been given, before an official announcement was made for the balloting, confirming 30th November 2019 as the final date for balloting.
Plot Balloting of LDA City on 30th November 2019
The ballot held in November used computerised distribution for the balloting of plots against exempted files, while transfer/exemption letter requests were only entertained until the 16th of November. All proceedings towards the issuance of transfer/exemption letters were to be completed by the 26th of November, with all the data being uploaded on LDA’s official website by 28th November.
The 1st plot balloting of LDA City focused on the allocation of around 9,000 plots to exempted file holders, and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) had been brought on board to ensure a transparent, organised, and computerised approach to the balloting of plots.
This plot allocation ballot was only conducted for exempted plot file holders though, who had cleared all of their commercialisation dues, as no plot could be transferred without the dues being cleared beforehand, as per the standing orders issued by the DG LDA.
Results of the 1st ballot held on 30th November 2019 are now available online on LDA’s official website and as of January 2020, the LDA is issuing allocation letters to all the successful plot holders since the design and draft of the allocation letters has been finalised.
