June 2018 was relatively stable as the market showed caution in the face of the current situation in the country. The market saw marginal improvement from last month, and genuine buyers continued to hold the reigns of most price trends.
Pakistan House Price Index
The prices for houses increased 0.36%, which is a rise of 37 index points during June 2018. During May, the index marked an increase of 0.4% because of a rise of 0.9-index points. The increase of 0.36% is an indication that the market is stable and has primarily attracted genuine buyers.
Pakistan Plot Price Index
The Pakistan Plot Price Index has recorded an increase of 0.12% during the month of June. This is an increase of 0.12-index points. During May, the Pakistan Plot Price Index had recorded an increase of 0.06%, from an increase of 0.14-index points. Statistics of June suggest that the market of plots is slowly recovering.
Lahore House Price Index
The prices for houses in Lahore went up by 0.27% during June. This is an increase of 0.63-index points, which when compared with statistics of May, highlights that the market is stable. As can also be seen from the graph, the market for houses in Lahore is stable, depicting genuine buyers are interested here.
Lahore Plot Price Index
The prices of plots in Lahore have exhibited an increase of 0.6-index points, an increase of 0.2%. When this is compared with statistics of May, where an increase of 0.16% from 0.46-index points was recorded, it can be deduced that the market of plots in this city is stable.
Karachi House Price Index
Karachi House Price Index has recorded a decrease of 0.65-index points, as prices have gone down by 0.32%, during June. For May, the prices increased by 0.39% and there was an increase of 0.8-index points. This shows that the prices for houses have gone down from the stable prices achieved during May.
Karachi Plot Price Index
Karachi’s Plot Price Index has observed a decrease of 3.18-index points as prices have decreased by 0.45%. During May, the prices of plots went up by 8.12-index points an increase of 1.15%. When statistics of May are compared with that of June it can be said that there was less activity during June because of which prices have fallen.
Islamabad House Price Index
Prices of houses in Islamabad have increased by 0.39%, an increase of 0.68-index points. During May, prices increased by 1.03% and this month’s increase of 0.39% is to be taken on the similar pattern – the market remains stable and these are minor fluctuations in prices.
Islamabad Plot Price Index
The Islamabad Plot Price Index has improved by 0.34-index points, an increase of 0.11% in property prices during June. During May, the property prices had increased by 0.19-index points, an improvement of 0.06% in property prices. As neither of the figures show much variation, it can be deduced that the market for plots in Islamabad has remained stable.
Overall, the property market has recorded stable prices for both plots and houses in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. These price trends have continued since last month and exhibit a persistent stability in prices.
