Jallo Park Butterfly House
One of the major attractions of this botanical garden in Lahore is the butterfly house – home to 3000 species of butterflies. The concept of the butterfly house was proposed by Iftikhar Ahmed, Vice Chairman of Park and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore. According to the officials, it is Pakistan’s first-ever butterfly house that serves as the source of education and entertainment for the citizens.
The management has put procedures in place to maintain artificial humidity in the butterfly house as butterflies can’t survive high temperatures.
The butterfly house also comprises an interpretation gallery, where you can learn more about butterflies, a butterfly tunnel, waterfalls, a stream, a collection of larvae, a rearing chamber, an aquarium, and a souvenir shop.
Please note that when you buy a ticket to this section, it is valid for 15 minutes only, but that will not be a problem because 15 minutes are enough to explore every corner of Jallo Park’s butterfly house.
