Punjab Institute Of Cardiology (PIC)
Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) is situated on Jail Road in Lahore and provides tertiary care to heart patients. One of the important services PIC provides is assisting other cardiac hospitals all over Punjab. PIC also runs awareness campaigns on heart diseases and preventive measures that people can take.
The treatment at PIC is considerably less expensive as compared to private cardiology centres and free of cost for underprivileged patients. Lahore General Hospital
The foundation stone of Lahore General Hospital was laid down by Begum Naheed Mirza (w/o Iskandar Mirza, former President of Pakistan) as a beggar house in 1958. In 1959, the then government decided to provide health care facilities to the general public and hence it was named as Lahore General Hospital. It is located on Ferozepur Road Lahore, on a total area of 256 Kanals.
Initially, the hospital was used as a caring home because of the overflow of patients at Mayo Hospital and no diagnosis or treatment facility was present at Lahore General Hospital. Lahore general hospital is affiliated with Postgraduate Medical Institute and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital
The foundations of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital were laid down by Sir Ganga Ram Agrawal in 1921 (prior to the partition of the subcontinent). The affiliated medical college with Ganga Ram Hospital is Fatimah Jinnah Medical College, named after the Mohtarma Fatimah Jinnah. It is an all-girls college but the faculty is a mix of highly trained and qualified male and female teachers.
Located in Jubilee Town Lahore, the total capacity of the hospital is currently 550 beds but the college is now being extended to another 22 kanals which will increase the bed capacity by 400.

Mayo Hospital
Mayo Hospital is the oldest and largest hospital in Lahore which started operation back in the late 19th century. The foundations were laid in 1870 but started operations in 1871 and it’s considered one of the largest hospitals in South East Asia.
On 14th August 1947, the total bed capacity of the hospital was 300 but today it has risen to 2399 beds serving patients from not only Lahore but also other parts of Pakistan.
