The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), which serves as the nerve centre for the government’s unified efforts to combat the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, has outlined a comprehensive plan to administer COVID-19 vaccine in Pakistan. The eight-step process will make the vaccination drive much more transparent and efficient once the vaccine becomes available in the country.
As per the statement issued by the NCOC, the COVID-19 vaccination strategy was developed in accordance with the global health guidelines following consultation with all the provinces and major stakeholders.
Numerous Adult Vaccination Centres (AVC) and coordination cells have also been established to kick off the coronavirus vaccination drive in Pakistan. These centres will be operated by the National Vaccination and Administration Control Cell (NVACC). Moreover, a new online portal called National Immunisation Management System (NIMS) has been created for the proper delivery of coronavirus vaccine on the national level. The portal will be reportedly run by the NCOC.
