Many cities in Punjab are seeing increased infrastructural development. As a city grows, so does the need to provide basic infrastructure to assure connectivity, better living conditions and access to public services. But the health of a city is not only limited to its own set of socio-economic indicators. It is also dependent upon how well it is placed within a district. For this reason, infrastructural development takes a broader perspective and includes connectivity of the overall city, with the rest of the country. Therefore, the first thing to be developed by any city’s administration is the road network. In this blog, we will take a look at some of the major roads in Pasrur.
Roads for Travelling to Pasrur
The city of Pasrur is located inside the district of Sialkot and is the capital of Pasrur Tehsil. Inside the city is a village called Nawan Sohawa, while the nearest big cities are Sialkot, Narowal, and Gujranwala. There is an extensive road network within the city, whereas Sialkot Road is the main jugular vein that runs through the city. Let’s explore each road, its main functions, and attractions situated on it.
Sialkot Road
This is the main road that connects Pasrur directly to Sialkot city. When it enters Pasrur, it diverges into two sections, one of which becomes Narowal Road that gets passengers direct access to Narowal City. The other offshoot dissects into Daska Road and Gujranwala-Pasrur Road.
As Pasrur is specifically known for its sugar and rice mills, Sialkot Road is the main point of connectivity for farmers and suppliers. All along the road right from when it enters the city on the north-western side, you’ll see farms. On this road, Punjab College Pasrur is also located. Apart from this, in the outskirts of the city, located across the Sialkot Road is Pasrur Constructions; there are also some hardware stores on this route. Primarily, you can find all things that are sold in bulk.
When the road touches the outskirts of Pasrur, there is LRBT free eye hospital as well as Al Noor Hospital both of which are flagship projects in the health sector.
Narowal Road
As Sialkot Road diverges into Narowal Road, you’ll find Al Riaz Hotel which offers a number of delicacies and draws crowds of people on a daily basis. This road connects to Government Degree College and Government High School.
Another main road, Pasrur-Zafarwal Road cuts through Narowal Road and connects to Mohalla Sayyadan, Mohalla Umeedpura, Mohalla Kakkay Zaian and Taimoor Colony, as well as Mughalpura Kot Kubba, and Hamza Super Store. Pasrur Walled City is also located here. These areas formulate a densely-populated area with various bank branches, and bazaars. You’ll also find Akhuwat Office, a microfinance organization that is running operations in various cities of Pakistan.
On Narowal Road, in the outskirts of Pasrur, there is Pasrur Cadet College. This is the college where pupils who want to join the army go for training and education from a young age. It is one of the most-respected educational institutions in the country.
Sialkot Road Offshoot 2
This second offshoot passes through Faisal Colony and Satrah Colony and then diverges into Daska Road. Daska Road also extends beyond the city of Pasrur and goes all the way to Daska City. A little off Pasrur on Daska Road, there is Aslam Rice Mills, several factories and some super stores. It’s hard to miss KY Family Restaurant on Daska Road. It’s a popular eatery where you can find good quality desi cuisine, especially barbeque and karahi.
Between Daska Road and Gujranwala Pasrur Road, there’s another popular route known as Civil Hospital Road. Near the point where Civil Hospital Road meets Sialkot Road, you’ll find Tehsil Headquarter (THQ) Hospital Pasrur. This facility, administered by the Government of Punjab, was established in 1964. THQ has one emergency & trauma center and several OPD units, according to its official website. Other facilities offered at the hospital are:
- Blood Bank
- Public Address System
- Patient Transfer Service (Rescue 1122)
- Pathology Lab
- Indoor Services
- X-Ray
The Gujranwala-Pasrur Road leads directly to Gujranwala and in the outskirts of Pasrur there is Al Madina Bricks Company.
Pasrur is widely known for producing high quality pottery. In the north-eastern side of the city, on the outskirts of the city, there are pottery shops from where you can buy one of the finest pottery pieces. This city was essentially built as a small town, but the landscape is slowly changing.
We’d be remiss if we don’t mention White Citi Pasrur in this blog. This state-of-the-art project is the city’s first gated-housing society. It offers residential plots of varying sizes, and has designated areas for recreational activities which makes it a pioneer in Pasrur’s real estate market. Oh, and don’t forget to read our blog on why White Citi is the best choice for families.
