In a tweet, Minister Faraz also released a promo of a show Aapka Wazir e Azam Aapke Saath which has clips of the premier with details about time and the calling number. All leading news channels of the country are expected to broadcast this live transmission. This will be the first time after August 2018 that Prime Minister Imran Khan will be openly answering people’s questions on live television. The premier is known for his zealous speeches and fiery messages that directly address the youth, something that his candidacy is famously known for. Even after assuming premiership, Prime Minister Khan regularly interacts with the country’s youth through video messages and press conferences. However, this will be the first time that the country’s premier will be available via telephone for a two-way conversation.
While this is the first time that a premier from Pakistan has given the citizens this opportunity, such an ‘open conversation’ is something Prime Minister Khan has always emboldened as the epitome of open democracy. During his first speech after declaring a majority in the Parliament, PM Khan promised that he would always be answerable before his people twice every month during a Question Hour in the National Assembly. He also promised that there would be a query box outside the Parliament where people could lodge complaints or queries and have them answered.

In keeping up with the foundations of democracy, PM Khan said he would always make himself accountable for the well being of his people, and that he would make himself available to his citizens – and this chance for telephonic conversation is in line with the earlier promises about his governance.
PM Khan Holds Open Dialogues In The Spirit Of Democracy
PM Khan has been openly addressing the people, although most of the conversations during the last year have centered around the coronavirus pandemic. PM Khan and the National Command Operation Center have held weekly briefings on the country’s response towards the coronavirus pandemic and the measures needed to control the spread of the disease. In efforts to make people understand the dangers associated with the infectious disease, and the course of action needed, the premier regularly addressed the people, detailing the standard operations procedures to be followed.
However, for today, no agenda has been set and people can ask anything they want. PM Imran Khan shared “more good news on the economic front” with the nation, in a tweet posted on Jan. 31. The premier highlighted that the efforts to contain inflation are showing some progress. He mentioned that the consumer price index and core inflation are both stabilizing due to the government’s efforts. This could be a possible hint that the premier might be talking about the country’s economic condition, and how it will be steered out of the pandemic. However, in the spirit of ‘open democracy,’ PM Khan has always aimed to keep the citizens informed about what is going on in the country, on all fronts.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has talked about reviving Pakistan’s tourism industry as well, an initiative Brand Pakistan has been launched to this effect. The Digital Pakistan Initiative and its subsequent, Raast Initiative, are one of the many all set to completely revolutionise Pakistan in this modern age.
All these measures by the present government are in line with their promises to keep the operations transparent and in the knowledge of the citizens. Now, let’s see what questions are asked as people contact the prime minister.
