However, before we begin, let’s take a quick look at the responsibilities of CDA and what it does for the residents of Islamabad.
What is the Capital Development Authority?
Just like Lahore Development Authority (LDA) in Lahore and Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) in Rawalpindi, the Capital Development Authority is the primary civic authority overseeing town planning, building, and maintenance in the capital city of Islamabad. It is also responsible for the municipality, ensuring cleanliness, provision of goods, as well as providing quality health and education services to the residents of the city, as per the CDA Ordinance 1960. CDA also works with other authorities such as the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad to ensure uniformity in the development and expansion of the meticulously planned metropolis.
Over the past few years, CDA has also digitized many of its key public services such as the Urban Land Record System and introduced online payment of dues to promote the system of e-governance.
CDA Property Tax Online Payment
Keeping in line with the Government of Pakistan’s Ease of Doing Business reforms, the CDA has partnered with leading commercial banks to allow the residents of Islamabad to pay their property taxes as well as water and allied charges online.
