Gwadar Area Guide
Gwadar was an overseas area of Oman and was procured by Pakistan in 1958. Following the reports that highlighted its potential of becoming a natural deep sea port. Subsequently, Gwadar witnessed mega-development projects including the National Highway Authority’s (NHA) initiative to construct the famous Makran Coastal Highway, which links Gwadar with Karachi via Pasni and Ormara. In the following year, the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) was set up to manage and supervise the planning and development of Gwadar. Moreover, the GDA further inceptionalised a 50-year master plan for the city. This port city offers mesmerising views with the sea on one side and the barren desert landscape on the other. This fast-paced development has piqued the interest of real estate developers and investors, and henceforth, the emergence of several residential communities and commercial markets to facilitate the citizens flocking into the mega-port city in search of better future prospects. Additionally, the city aims to help reduce the country’s housing shortages with its fast-paced infrastructural development to attract more residents. Eversince the main port of Gwadar and other development projects came under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the area has prominently marked itself as a serious playground for the real estate industry of Pakistan.
